Project Estimator-AC/Heating/Plumbing
Job description
We are currently seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Plumbing/HVAC Project Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a local professional with a stable work history and possess a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering (BSME). The candidate should have a minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience in commercial plumbing and HVAC design, estimating, and project management. Proficiency in project management, and a proven track record of successful large commercial projects are essential.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring timely completion
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure project specifications are met
- Monitor project progress and make necessary adjustments to ensure quality and efficiency
-Estimate/take off and price from plans for proposals
- On site look at jobs and price them in the Plumbing and AC field
- Technical help to the ac/heating divisions technicians with an understanding of controls and engineering to bring the best product to the customer and solve the problem
-Assist in setting up the contract jobs with materials and labor
- Communicate with potential clients to create a relationship and sell jobs
- Look for opportunities to bring value to our customers with new products and technology
- Understanding the New York laws and regulations to assist our customers in compliance
- Manage project budgets and track expenses
- Prepare and submit project reports
- Ensure compliance with building codes, regulations, and safety standards
- Collaborate with clients to understand project requirements and provide regular updates
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field preferred
- 5-7 years of experience
- 3 years of experience in a supervising or managerial role
- 5 years of project management experience
- Proven track record of managing projects
- Have a working knowledge of the cost of goods and services
- Have a demonstrated ability to solicit, evaluate and manage the price, schedule and quality of objectives of individual projects
- Understand the sequencing of work and the strategy of creating effective project schedules
- Understand project cost control and change order management
- Have the ability to prioritize large volumes of complex work to meet established deadlines
- Must possess OSHA 30hr certification
- PMP certified or committed to obtain it within 12 months
- Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel and Word
- Proven leadership ability and detail oriented
- Excellent time management and problems solving skills
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Possess dispute resolution skills
- Proven safety knowledge and skills
- Possess and able to maintain a valid driver's license
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $90,000.00 - $145,000.00 per year
